Hazrat Hasan al-Basri once fell debilitated. His neighbor, an unbeliever, came to visit him.
"O Imam," he shouted, "I recognize a terrible stench." The Imam let him know it was brought about by disease, however the neighbor demanded: "That isn't the scent of disorder. It is a toilet smell. For the love of Allah, let me know it!"
He had not seen that sewage was spilling from his home into that of the Imam.
At the point when the neighbor squeezed him, the Imam at last said: "For certain months your channel has been leaking through to our side. I attempted to fix it, however without progress."
His neighbor inquired as to why he had not told him previously, yet the respected Imam said: "I could have annoyed you."
The unbeliever was so dazzled by this moral refinement that he was honored with Genuine Confidence, for he perceived the Imam's profound quality as a beam of Islam.
