Breaking News: Severe Erosion Submerges Part of Dasgram-Nayabazar  Road

Fakirbazar, August 25 - Following days of heavy rain in June, the Lagai river in North Karimganj has eroded its banks, posing a threat to local roads and residences. Despite repeated reports and social media appeals, the district administration initially took no action. However, after memorandums from various parties and organizations, departmental authorities finally visited the affected areas along the Lagai river and issued red signals at some locations.

One of the severely impacted areas is the Dasgram-Nayabazar Tower Road, which developed serious cracks due to the erosion. On June 20, the district public relations department issued a statement suspending vehicular movement on this road, affecting around thirty thousand commuters. Unfortunately, no alternative route was provided by the authorities.

Recently, a significant portion of the road near the 48 Karuria-Sundori LP School on the Dasgram-Nayabazar Purta road has submerged due to a massive crack. This has provoked outrage among the local population, including hundreds of students who rely on this road for transportation. They expressed frustration with the negligence of the departmental authorities and the district administration, warning that any accidents could lead to a complete shutdown of both departments.

The affected residents emphasize that this road is the primary means of transportation for thousands of students and hundreds of people. It is also crucial for patients from the area to access city hospitals, leaving them with no viable alternatives.
