*Assam Takes Strides in Empowering its Youth: Launching Event of Indigenous Skill Training Centers, Skill Yatra Flag-Off, and Stipend Release in Karimganj*



*Karimganj, Assam* – On the 8th of September, 2023, Karimganj witnessed a historic event that promises to reshape the future of Assam's youth. Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, led the inauguration of Indigenous Skill Training Centers, marked the flag-off of the Skill Yatra, and personally handed out stipends to trainees at the Fakir Bazar Centre of ASDM (Assam Skill Development Mission). This event was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Jayanta Mallabaruah, Hon'ble Minister for Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship, Tourism & PHED, Govt. of Assam.


The heart of the event, the Indigenous Skill Training Centers, represents a groundbreaking initiative by the Assam government. These centers are strategically positioned to equip the youth with essential skills tailored to the region's needs. From agriculture to IT, from healthcare to hospitality, these centers will offer comprehensive training, enhancing employability and entrepreneurial opportunities.


The Skill Yatra, an innovative and ambitious endeavor, was officially launched by Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. This mobile skill development program will traverse the diverse landscapes of Assam, bringing skill training and vocational education to the doorstep of even the remotest communities. One of the most eagerly awaited moments of the event was the stipend release for trainees.
